Background: James O'leary was always a nerdy little irritating guy. And nosy. Ultimately, he managed to eak out a living from his insatiable curiosity by working as a free-lance reporter, staying just above the poverty line by 'hustling up' news stories on his own and then selling them to the 'big' news agencies. Then, late one evening his curiosity and nosiness changed his life. He broke in to a top secret industrial lab to get evidence of illegal human cloning activity, and stumbled into the middle of an assault by a villianous crime syndicate which was trying to steal the research and prototype for a 'Super-Agent' process.
In the confusion, James hid in what turned out to be an experimental 'rejuvination chamber', and when the experiment ran amok and unsupervised, he not only survived the resulting explosion, but regained conscious to find that he had gained astonishing powers! His body has rebuilt itself into the 'ideal human configuration' as his base form, and he can willfully modify his shape even further, taking on the shape of most animals (if they are not too small or too large) and of any human!
Appearance: James O'Leary's base form is of a 'perfect man'. This is a very different form from his previous one, and has to shape shift into his 'old form' in order to be recognized.
Personality: James is still the same guy, and still obsessed with uncovering 'the story of the century' and getting the ultimate by-line and the respect of the world in the process! He is actually fairly noble in his motives, but willing to do almost anything short of killing someone in his means.
Tactics: James has found that he can not only take on the form of most animals and any other human with perfect accuracy, right down to the DNA! He has also found that he can make relatively minor 'improvements' in his body structure to gain an animal ability without having to change his whole shape. For example, he can grow gills at will and swim underwater indefinitely without having to switch from human form. He cannot, however, be stunned, unconscious, or sleep and retain the enhancement.
