After the defeat of the Blasters at the hands of The Hawk, information was passed on to their sister-group, the Defenders, including the location of the villain’s lair. After going to the mountain-side cave (a mere three miles from their Mansion headquarters) and clearing out the Blaster’s equipment and computers, the Defenders realized that this hidden location would serve their needs far better than the high-profile mansion. After installing several low-tech security safeguards (similar to those in places like Egyptian pyramids), the Defenders moved in. The headquarters is technologically bare and isolated by choice, but serves as a safehaven for the heroes of Washington D.C.
