Mid 1980's to Present
Team PL: 11-15
Many years after the dissolution of the Legion of Champions, new heroes and older heroes alike recognized that there was a need for a super hero team again. The first of these new teams was started after Burt Remington, an ex-LOC member, teamed up with then new heroes Dragon, Morning Star and Banshee. For a few years, the Champions of Justice was the primary super hero team of the American West Coast. After a few years, heroes from the East Coast and Midwest, and soon even further away were joining. Their focus became national, international, and even global.
Today, they are a veteran team. Most of the heroes on the team have successful solo super heroic careers as well as normal lives and their role the Champions of Justice. They have achieved, and perhaps surpassed, what the Legion before them had. They are the premiere team of the United States and of the Earth. They handle the crises in places that don't have resident teams. They're the hero team that stops invasion fleets. Made up of a core of long time members with a nearly constant stream of new members coming in, replacing the few who have left. Constantly evolving though, they remain the Champions of Justice.
